Guys, what do you think about extending the mechanism for checking if new pattern is identical with an existing one? I belive that by adding only few lines of code we could also check whether the new pattern is a subpattern or is it equal to an existing one.

I'm OK with the identity check. I'm OK with a sub-pattern check as well but would prefer if the user was presented with a confirmation dialog and could add it if they desired. The reason for this is two fold. One, if there were errors in the sub-pattern detection logic and also the fact that patterns can be disabled.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
