Hey all,
The company I work for currently uses StarTeam for version control, and the 3rd party plugin for it is pretty basic to be honest.  To make it easier to keep track of what code is currently in the repository, we do a nightly build of every java file with the Dev floating label into two jar files (one for .class, one for .java), and attach the source jar to a user library.
It would be very helpful to have an extra option (apart from version on disk/CVS) to compare a java file versus the corresponding source file in a jar/zip file, or even versus a directory structure in the file system/workspace.
Is this at all possible?

It would be possible but we don;t have the cycles to work on it. It would be possible for you to write a small plug-in that does it, if you wanted to.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
