Description Jared Burns CLA 2007-01-31 20:12:31 EST
1. Declare a detail formatter for an interface.
2. Toggle the preference to "Show variable details > As the label for all variable with detail formatters".

The detail formatter from step 1 is used for the detail pane when an instance of the interface is selected, but this detail value is not used in the label. It seems that in order to get the detail value in the label, you have to provide an identical formatter for every concrete type which implements the interface. This is tedious and error prone.

If an object would have its details rendered by a formatter, the label should also be affected when the preferences are configured this way.

Not planned for 3.3

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
