Description Philippe CLA 2002-05-03 20:33:25 EDT
I installed eclise on linux & gtk2.

when I run :
/usr/local/eclipseGtk2/eclipse -vm /usr/local/jdk1.3.1_03//bin/java -data /root/
-ws gtk -arch x86

I get
java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError:
/usr/local/eclipseGtk2/plugins/org.eclipse.swt/os/linux/x86/libswt-pi-gtk-2034.so:
/usr/X11R6/lib/libXft.so : shared object not open
        at java.lang.ClassLoader$NativeLibrary.load(Native Method)

libXft.so exists

Any Idea ?
Is there some help how to install Gtk2 for eclipse ?
I install the following rpm :
(libgtk+-x11, pango, freetype, libatk,libglib,libgdk_pixbuf)

Eclipse M5 build
Linux mandrake 8.2
Jdk1.3

M5 had very serious problems on GTK2.
Could you try the latest nightly build, and tell us if it works for you?

Great job you did in a few days !

I tried latest build 20020510 and it works fine,
content assit works also.

Only a small problem about fonts, I think I do
not have the right fonts because font display is
bad. I installed all redhat cd fonts ? Which
font do you use ??

I use :
redhat 7.3
gtk 2
Kde 3.0

Good, so I'm closing the bug on the library-not-found part.

I've created bug 15870 for the fonts-are-ugly part. Please append details of
your setup (especially - do you use anti-aliasing?).
