There seems to be a workaround in 3.2 via the IWorkbench.addWorkbenchListener that allows a plugin to listen for a pre-shutdown method that you can then go about hiding views you don't want to persist. Is there an equivalent for pre-3.2? Sorry, no, there is no way to do this pre 3.2 if you don't control the application. In an RCP application, you can use WorkbenchAdvisor.preShutdown(), which is @since 3.0. Brian, if you've migrated your project to Eclipse 3.4, you can try the new 'restorable' attribute that was added to the views extension point, see bug 215797. This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant. |
