The last page of the Sharing Wizard uses a background job to perform work instead of the runnable context provided by the wizard. The implication of this is that the wuzard may be updating asynchronously but the user may not realize it.

Updating runs in the wizard. It is only commit that runs in the background. Unfortunately, it is too big a change to fix at this point in 3.2.

There is currently no plan to address this issue.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.
