Description Zachary Samsel CLA 2006-04-28 12:49:51 EDT
This request for enhancement is for the focusable tool tips using the F2 key. It would be beneficial for the user experience if there was a way to pin a tool tip to stay open so an additional tool tip could be opened. The ability to move the pinned tool tip to different areas of the screen would be necessary if this RFE were implemented.

Benefits would include:
-----------------------

Ability to allow multiple tool tips to be open which describe methods or objects that are related to one another

The ability to move the pinned tool tips would allow Eclipse users to read related information while inputting text without the window blocking the view of the cursor

Example

Two pinned tool tips are displayed to help the user read related information from both while still having the ability to type in the editor.

Unless I'm mistaken, this seems more like UI? UA does not do tooltips..

Should be JDT/UI I believe.

There are currently no plans to go into this direction.

Get rid of deprecated state.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
