To monitor some of our server/background process we use log files.

These files get written to frequently with debug/non-debug output.

Since we have Eclipse as the IDE we have the log file open in Eclipse text
editor to read the output.

Each time the file is written to by the server process, Eclipse reconfirms if
the file should be reloaded.

Shouldn't telling Eclipse once for "one editor session of the log file" or any
file for that matter be enough ?

I am using 3.2M4 now and I notice that most of the times the log file gets updated without confirmation and eclipse inconsistently shows the confirmation dialog - sometimes after updating/refreshing the file !

Wierd. I have not been able to figure out when the confirmation comes up.

Cheers and goodwill

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
