When selection moves outside of a block, the selection range should switch to 
selecting blocks; and move back to selecting characters if it then goes back 
into the originating block.

This should only be done for certain types of blocks. And, if we wanted to be 
like other editors, it might also depend on the direction the mouse is being 
dragged.
