Would it be possible to add to the file associations in Eclipse releases these 
two:
plugin.xml ---> Plugin Manifest Editor
build.xml  ---> Ant Editor

I'm new to Eclipse and while following the instructions in a book I bought, 
these editors did not appear as the book's instructions for creating a simple 
plugin.  It took me a while to figure out what was happening.

Clicking on a plugin.xml would not open the right editor? That should be
working.  Or it is just a matter of not seeing the file association on the File
Associations page (which is a known issue in 3.1: bug 91965)?

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
