HOWTO: Install
After a slew of “my distro’s Eclipse package has some wierd behaviour” questions in #eclipse today, plus “how do I install PDT?” for the umpteenth time, I decided to refactor my previous FAQ answer and also spin off an Eclipse-only version. Why am I bothering you with this bit of trivia? Because I want to know if this presentation works, and what’s missing. You’ve all installed Eclipse one way or another, and every day it seems there’s a new way added. Obviously, details on using Equinox’s p2 are not included yet. What can you add to these pages? And how can we make the “How do I install ____?” story simpler?

You might also consider some quick Flash tutorials. Some people do better with visual instructions as opposed to text instructions.
