Another Day, Another Build Server
After 48 hours, the emf.torolab build server has been rebuilt, and builds are once again flowing to eclipse.org.
This server has sustained a lot of abuse over the years, and has finally been upgraded from a very old Debian to the latest Ubuntu 6.06LTS server, which is supported through 2011. It is currently responsible for 9 unique component builds including EMF’s Core, Query, Validation & Transaction, MDT’s EODM, OCL, UML2 & XSD, and M2T’s JET.
If anyone’s interested in what goes in to setting up a shared build server for many different component builds, have a look at EMF Build Server Setup.
The other builds done using this infrastructure are currently hosted on emft.eclipse.org. This includes MDT’s UML2 Tools and all the EMFT components. emft.eclipse.org is an aging FC4 Xen vserver, so it’s configured a bit differently because of the OS’s idiosyncracies. For details, see EMFT Build Server Setup.
