Thank you Jeff I just got home from giving a talk on the algorithm behind Cola at Google. The Google Open Source Programs Office will put the video of my talk - and all the other EclipseDay presentations - up on YouTube in about a week or so.

Jeff - Your answer is correct.

Ian - I strongly encourage individual committers to take the time to become full-fledged Committer Members by signing the Membership Agreement. That gives you the right to vote at the Eclipse Foundation, and participate more fully in the operations of the community.

That’s a good question Ian. I believe it is all committers who work for a member company (and are registered as such) and all independent committers who have taken the time to become a committer member (http://www.eclipse.org/membership/become_a_member/). As they say “membership has privileges”.

Jeff, just to be clear. Is it all committers, or all “member” committers. I’m not really sure what the difference is, but I understand there is one.

Hey Francis. Thank you for all your contributions. Well done! Having climbed the barrier relatively recently, your advice on lowering it is particularly apt. The “outside” perspective is a huge contribution.

p.s., Glad you found the book helpful. We are working on an updated version but it will not be out until the end of the year.

Thanks for this! We need more ways to encourage people to get involved and make it easy for them as I’m sure you well know. I really liked your RCP book BTW, it helped me a lot with my RCP application. I look forward to doing my part to make it easier for people to contribute.
