Make Your Own EclipseCon Schedule
There are LOTS of talks at EclipseCon 2009–I want to go to so many that I can’t keep track of them. Writing them down is not working for me. It turns out that it’s not working for Gabe or Bjorn, either, so we decided to make everyone’s life a little easier. In a quick hour and a half of coding we put together a really simple tool to help you build your own schedule for next week’s EclipseCon 2009. When you look at the listings of EclipseCon talks you will see a check box on the far right of each listing. Check it and it will be added to your schedule, uncheck it and it’s removed. Then just visit the MyConference page and you get your schedule, laid out just like the online conference program, but only showing the talks you want. You can even save a few for the same time slot if you’re not sure which one you want. Here’s an example:
This is all just saved in a cookie, so there is no server-side login or data saving. Build this with the laptop you’ll be taking to the convention, or just print it ahead of time.
Enjoy!

Very nice, thank you!
The link to all sessions displays posters first, which don’t have a checkbox, so I was confused for a moment and tried another browser… how about you put the posters at the bottom?

Thanks. That’s handy. Two things,
1] I only see check boxes on the List view. That was confusing at first.
2] How do I put my list on my smart phone?

Glad this has been helpful!
Hey Boris, we’re not going to have time to mess with the order of the talks (you can imagine that a lot is going on right now).
Ben, we’ll be adding the checkboxes to the individual talk description pages today. This tool was a last minute hackathon so we didn’t get it totally fleshed out. Gabe and I were going to put this up on the individual talk pages today and he was going to blog about it (still will).
