SOA Tools BPMN modeler

Follow the latest news of the BPMN modeler.

BPMN modeler weekly build

Oisin just enabled a weekly build for the BPMN modeler. You can check the status of the build on the Eclipse Hudson server.

The BPMN modeler just hold a webinar.

Just hold my very first webinar covering the BPMN modeler as an Eclipse committer!

The content was recorded and is available on Eclipse Live.

Thanks to Adobe for providing the technology that makes all this possible!

Some stats:
50 registered
31 attended live

Did you find this webinar useful?
81% (13) – Yes
13% (2) – Yes, but it was too technical
6% (1) – Yes, but it was not technical enough
0% (0) – No

Apparently not too bad!

One random, ok the best quote, from an attendee:

Chris Aniszczyk: Thanks Antoine… a great showcase of what you can do with an EMF model using things like GMF, EMF Validation, etc…

Thanks everyone for showing up. I notice that I should really split the exercise in two separate parts, one for business analysts and one for developers only. I’ll try to improve on that in the future.

And you know what ? I’ll be doing a webinar in March on Babel! More about it soon on my blog.

New website look

The BPMN modeler project just adopted the new Nova theme. It looks very slick. Kudos to the webmasters for this major achievement!

BPMN modeler marketing

In a three months span, we collected four quotes for the BPMN modeler. Most of them were contributed for a press release that we didn’t have time to issue when the modeler went from being a component to being a subproject.

One quote shows randomly on the main website page. We will have a dedicated page for the quotes once the webmasters install json support on www.eclipse.org.

If you would like to contribute a quote to the BPMN subproject, just comment this bug. It takes two minutes and it helps a lot!

Grounded, made a source code page

Since I am grounded this year as I didn’t come to ESE,

I made a page to help people access the source code of the BPMN modeler here:
http://www.eclipse.org/bpmn/source_code.php

It contains several teamsets that I am sure people will find nice to use to import the projects simply.

The source code location is updated to the new location, everything is back in order now, even though it’d be great to check the build system.

Looking forward to your feedback (when you’re done having fun over there in Germany).

How much BPMN do you want for EclipseCon 2009 ?

We would like to propose a short talk to present the surface of the BPMN modeler at EclipseCon.

Would you like to see more ? Please let us know if you are up for a BoF or a lengthier session.

New screenshot gallery

We just inaugurated a screenshot gallery on the BPMN modeler website.

Those screenshots are taken from the samples. Contribute one today!

BPMN modeler update: moving and expanding to a new aisle of the SOA Tools mansion

Since the BPMN modeler is no longer a component but a sub-project, some things are changing:
the newsgroup is now:
http://www.eclipse.org/newsportal/thread.php?group=eclipse.bpmn-modeler
the user mailing is now:
https://dev.eclipse.org/mailman/listinfo/bpmn-user
the development mailing list:
https://dev.eclipse.org/mailman/listinfo/bpmn-dev

To enter a bug, you need to enter a bug under the product BPMN, not the component org.eclipse.stp.bpmn.
Here is a link to enter one for example:
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/enter_bug.cgi?product=BPMN

The website moved from http://www.eclipse.org/stp/bpmn to www.eclipse.org/bpmn.

I have added a redirecting mechanism. Make sure you update your bookmarks!

Questions, suggestions, discussions are welcome.

Welcome!

This blog is the new home of the BPMN modeler, the place to check out to get the latest news about its development.

The BPMN modeler is currently evolving from the status of component to sub-project.

Please come discuss the proposal on the newsgroup if you are interested.
